Church Wide:
-"Oasis" Classes to Begins February 12
We hope you will take part in our Oasis class this spring. Oasis is a place of real life in a desert filled with mirage. CCM is committed to winning people to an honest view of themselves and an authentic perspective of Jesus. Once we see who we are, we relish who He is. Oasis is your moment to look deeply into life. Starting February 12, join us at 8:45am on Sunday mornings or at 5:00pm Sunday evenings at the home of Herb and Gena Cummings (295 Spring Mill Rd, Collierville).
-Student Fundraiser (Kroger cards)
Please help our students raise funds to go to camp this summer in Orange Beach, Florida. The cards cost $5 (that amount is automatically added to the card). So, actually, the cards cost nothing! Each time you get groceries, prescriptions or gasoline and use the card, the students receive 5% of that sale. They are hoping to raise enough money to defray the cost for every student to go to camp this year.
There will be envelopes in your seats this Sunday for you to sign-up. Money is due at the time of sign-up. Please email Jake Gaines for more information jake@communitychurchmemphis.com
-Church Cookout - March 18
Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 18 immediately following our morning worship service as we grill out hamburgers and hotdogs. This is a great chance to hang out and get to know all the new faces at CCM. We hope to see you there!
Women:
-Women's Bible Study Starts February 13
We will be starting up a new Angela Thomas Bible Study "Living Your Life as a Beautiful Offering" in February. The morning group will meet at the home of Susan Jackson (5050 Holmes Oak Cove, Collierville), and the evening group will meet at the home of Marissa Loper (280 Revell Point No, Collierville). Men:
-Men's Spring Retreat - March 2, 3 (Special Guest Speaker)
We are having our 2nd annual Men's Spring Retreat the weekend of March 2nd. We are going to meet at the YMCA here in Collierville, so more people can attend. Our guest speaker will be Chris Thomas, Director of Torchbearers International, which is a place where their mission is to proclaim the transforming presence of Jesus Christ through biblical teaching and practical training, equipping men and women for service in His church worldwide. We are truly blessed to have Chris Thomas join us for the weekend to discuss "being an authentic man."
There will be a Friday night session and a Saturday morning session held at the YMCA with golf immediately following for those interested. The cost for the retreat is $15 (which does NOT include golf fees). Sign-up today by emailing Jake Gaines at jake@communitychurchmemphis.com.
-Men's "What's Up with Excellence?" Breakfast - March 24 at 8:30am
Hey guys! Come join us for the continuation of our "What's Up" series. On Saturday, March 24 we will be discussing "Excellence" and all that it entails. We will have a light breakfast and will be meeting at the home of Joe Delisi (2010 Coors Creek Cv., Collierville). Hope to see all of you there!
-Men's Basketball - Every Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm
Calling all men! Come and join us on Sunday nights for some pick-up basketball at the YMCA. Please note that you will need to enter through side door on the left of the building. Resumes next week due to Superbowl!
Students (grades 6-12):
-Student Life at Orange Beach (summer camp) - July 9-13
If you are a student in grades 6th-12th and would like to attend camp this summer at Orange Beach, your deposit of $125 to hold your spot is due now. We will soon be starting our fund raiser for this trip. Please see Jake Gaines for more details. jake@communitychurchmemphis.com
-Meet at YMCA 9:00am every Sunday morning
If you are a 6th-12th grader, join us at 9:00am for our New Bible study. We will be going over our GrassRoots lesson from Thursday and discussing it in detail. We hope to see you there. Come and get involved!
-GrassRoots - Wednesdays at the YMCA - 7pm
If you are a 6th-12th grade student, come join us every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30pm at The YMCA at 1185 Schilling Blvd. E. in Collierville. This is our mid-week service complete with worship led by Tony Fisher, a message from Jake, and fun activities, basketball and refreshments. Invite a friend and come every week. You won't want to miss out on this fun time together at our new place!
-The Commons (for Guys) - 1st and 3rd (and 5th) Sundays at 4:45pm
This group is for 6th-12th grade GUYS and meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday evening of the month from 4:45-5:45pm at Mama Mia's Pizza (255 Byhalia Rd). Come hang out with us! (Resumes on February 19)
-Chic 31 (for Girls) - 1st and 3rd (and 5th) Sundays at 5pm
This group is for 6th-12th grade girls and meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday evening from 5-6pm at a location TBD. We will be studying the Word of God and will be focused on deepening our love for Him, understanding why we strive for purity, and finding out what God wants from our lives. (Resumes on February 19)
